Dawn Smith began meditating and studying mindfulness in her youth. She has been teaching Yoga and Mindfulness full time, on the East & West Coasts since 2007. She was the lead teacher for Youth Yoga Initiative, Inc. a non-profit organization that brought yoga to at risk youths in public schools. She taught and mentored aspiring teachers in a 200hr Teacher Training Program in Savannah, GA.

In addition to her 200hr certification, she has more than 5,000 hours of teaching experience to date. Dawn is also certified as a Yoga Ed. Inc.K-8th Teacher, Tools for Teachers Instructor and Mind-Body Resources for at Risk Youth and Adults™ Instructor. She has worked extensively with trauma survivors and helped bring Yoga and meditation to Hospice through the Your Yoga Path organization – teaching Hospice staff and terminally ill children and their families. Dawn is also trained at as 1st Degree Reiki Practitioner & is a non-denominational Ordained Minister.

Dawn’s classes emphasize mindfulness as well as the physical practice of yoga. Whether teaching public classes, special populations or private clients, her teaching provides a space to challenge as well as nourish the body, mind and spirit. Dawn holds space for students to develop inquisitiveness about their lives and to practice mindfulness physically, mentally and spiritually.

After more than 20 years away, Dawn has returned to the Midwest and currently teaches at  Spacious Heart Studio in Goshen, Indiana and Sacred Waters in Mishawaka, IN and continues to mentor & teach private clients in the Midwest as well as the East & West Coasts.
